Current Problems
There is a general sense in the population that current systems are insufficient.
They express this sentiment with a desire for proportional representation or for something that isn't left/right politics, but is still democratic.
They want a genuine third option, but they do not know what that third option should be.
They cannot articulate it because the knowledge required to do so is hard to come by.
- We have seen that democratic systems throughout the world are easily infiltrated by foreign intelligence operations.
- We have seen democratic elections rigged and cheated upon.
- We have seen so-called leaders cave to peer pressure.
- We have seen that just because somebody is elected, does not mean that they are qualified for their position.
Nation builders recognize these people as children, and yet, the children lead the children -- the blind lead the blind -- with the assistance of an enemy.
These are systemic problems and they require a systemic solution.
Solving the Trilemma
To come up with the idea of a Triune Democracy took ten years of research across multiple disciplines,
the invention of intellectual tools that work with known laws and can scale,
the discovery and application of new laws,
and the cultivation of an ability to take things up to a whole new level of thinking.
Direct democracies are faced with a
trilemma problem, in which all three characteristics must be satisifed to be acceptable:
- Participation: They must facilitate widespread participation in the decision-making process by the people affected.
- Deliberation: They must facilitate rational discussion where all major points of view are weighted according to their evidence.
- Equality: All members of a population on whose behalf decisions are made have an equal chance of having their views taken into account.
The above are desirable characteristics of an ideal system of direct democracy. So far, they have proven to be elusive in various direct democracy schemes, with only two out of the three being met.
A Triune Democracy solves the trilemma as follows:
Participation
Any qualified participant may submit proposals to the Office of Priorities. They may also monitor, intercept, and vote on proposals when they are at the prioritization stage.
Everyone in affected areas may vote regardless of qualifications when such voting is performed.
Note: Qualifications are determined by character development. This is a necessary security control on the system. If everyone in the population has sufficiently developed characters, then everyone can participate.
Deliberation
Rational discussion is obtained via the Offices of Priorities, Reason, Rightness, Feeling, Sensing, Perception & Data, Realization, and Conscience, and with the direct participation of the proposer.
The Office of Priorities further adds to the discussion with debates, presentations, trials, votes, and any other mechanism as required.
The system is geared towards building and understanding the thought behind the proposal, of which collecting perspectives is a necessary part.
Equality
Most of the time, decisions are made on behalf of other people, whether they originate from a member of Council or from your fellow countryman.
Not everyone has time to vote on every issue all the time, and sometimes voting isn't even necessary.
A Triune Democracy's automated design and structure helps guarantee the interests of everyone at all times due to this requirement.
The Council of Witness is balanced by race (or region) and sex to ensure no harm is done on those fronts and that those views are taken into account.
The above Offices together with Council ensure as many perspectives as possible are taken into account and that no proposal is passed that would cause harm to anyone.
A Triune Democracy is a proposal processsing engine that supports the nation and is open to any member of the nation to access.
It helps both the people and the leaders of the nation make good decisions and manage the nation competently.
It does all of this without fear of corruption and infiltration.
Leadership
There are two directions leadership comes from in this system. The bottom -- the grassroots level -- the people on the ground who are closest to the needs of the nation.
Leadership also comes from the top -- from Council -- from people who are educated in international law, the Law of Nations, and the Law of Thought, people who know where to take a nation.
In both cases, their voices are heard in the form of a proposal and processed by the system. In both cases, the people lead from their position, whatever their perspective may be, whatever their duties may be.
This is what makes the system democratic -- all voices can be heard. Each contributes a perspective to a thought. The system builds knowledge of and competence with the thought and uses that to build better policy and
intelligently navigate the nation in this reality through time along a predominantly ascendant trajectory. That knowledge is shared and available to everyone so that all may benefit and grow. Democratic leadership begets knowledge gain which helps uplift everybody.
The system's purpose is what it does and this is what a Triune Democracy is all about.
Addressing the Problems
Humanity must learn from its mistakes. It cannot fall into a planetary tyranny again. Therefore, a Triune Democracy:
- Solves the left/right political paradigm by taking things up to the level of a whole thought.
- Detects, mitigates, and prevents infiltration attempts due to the use of a Character Test and the Office of Identity.
- Minimizes use of elections to minimize cheating and rigging possibilities; favours career and lifetime positions to further dissuade infiltration.
- Empowers individual thought where that thought is right. The system favours rightness and full knowledge to mitigate against peer pressure.
- Requires that all who participate are qualified by the strength of their character since elections do not guarantee qualifications.
- Detects and rewards meritocratic leadership over anti-meritocratic betrayal.
- By design, both due to Council and the Offices of Rightness and Conscience, prevents genocides and democides.
-
By design, all that really matters is that the Offices perform their functions. How they do this is irrelevent so long as it is within the nation.
Even if somebody were to game the Character Test, they would not have much influence over the system or its direction -- not any more influence than any other member of the society.
- By design, the highest position (Paragon) serves under threat of death. With such a great responsibility, the slightest deviation from honour reverts the system to normal operation.
- Recognizes the need for people to maintain their integrity as well as the damage that can be done when this is trespassed.
- Prevents the population from falling into perdition and mind control.
